As dog owners, we understand that dealing with disobedient dogs can be a pup-blem and a very frustrating, and stressful experience. That's why our Basic Teen Wag is here to help.

Our program is pawfect for dogs over 6 months old who know the basics but need a little extra help with obedience. At this stage, your pup is not fully housetrained and struggles with some cues such as recalls and leash walking.

At Wag Mates Academy, we believe in positive reinforcement, which means your pet will receive plenty of love and encouragement as they work towards becoming their best version.

Our experienced trainers will develop a customized training plan based on your dog's unique needs and your family's goals. The best part is that your dog will get to stay with one of our talented trainers, making new wag mates and learning faster!

How do I begin the training process?

Contact us using the form on our website or give us a call or email so we can schedule a free phone consultation and discuss the best program for your pooch.

Which program suits me and my dog?

Unfortunately this question does not have a simple answer! The right program for your dog will depend on various factors such as age, training history and behavioral issues.

How long are the programs?

Our programs vary in length. The shortest program we have available is 2 weeks long compared to our longest which is 6 weeks. Have a look at all of our programs here.

Where will my dog be staying?

Dogs stay in our certified trainer’s homes. Each dog will have access to ample exercise, treats, toys and tons of training and love.

What training methods do you use?

Wag Mates Academy is a positive reinforcement only company. Your pup will be trained with lots of treats, toys and most importantly, LOVE!

How much will training cost?

The training cost depends on the pup's age and specific issues. The program's duration ranges from 2 to 10 weeks and is fully customized to your dog's needs.

Do you have payment plans?

Absolutely! We offer payment plans in partnership with AFFIRM, including 6 months with no interest and 12/36 months with 15% interest.

Do I expect post-training homework?

Yes! The training doesn’t stop when your dog comes back home. In order to achieve the best results our trainer will help you by giving you homework and tips on how to continue the training at home. We are dedicated to your dog’s success and will provide you with lifetime support.

What is lifetime support all about?

You and your dog will be part of the Wag Mates family and we will always be available to help with any training you need. We have monthly sessions available for all clients, and it is super easy to book, just give us a call! The lifetime support is free and unlimited!

How will I receive updates about my dog during training?

During the program your trainer will be speaking to you every day through Signal, sending daily updates of how your pooch is doing and showing you their progress.

Which vaccines are mandatory for my dog to have?

Before the training, your dog is required to have the DHLPP, Bordatella, and Rabies vaccines. Ensuring your dog's vaccinations are up-to-date helps maintain a safe and healthy training environment.

What preparations do I need to make before the training?

To prepare for the training, you will receive a packing list a week before the program starts. This list will include various items, any required medication for your dog (if applicable), as well as necessary toiletries.
