Source of Inspiration
Rachel was inspired to become a dog trainer because of her desire to improve the quality of life for people in need, particularly through service dog training. She saw how dogs could be a life-changing source of companionship and support, and she wanted to play a part in that transformation. The idea of helping individuals build a strong bond with their service dog and experience greater independence motivates her work.
Professional Experience
Rachel holds a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida, which has been a key asset in her career as a dog trainer. For the past 6 years, she has specialized in training service dogs for military veterans, working closely with shelter dogs to help them become reliable companions. Rachel also offers private 1:1 lessons for individual clients, focusing on both basic and advanced obedience, including off-leash work. Her background in behavior analysis gives her a unique edge in understanding and shaping canine behavior effectively.
Unleashing Expertise
Rachel has a strong interest and extensive experience in service dog training and off-leash obedience. Her favorite skill to teach is off-leash recall, as it allows dogs and their families to enjoy greater freedom while maintaining a strong bond and reliable communication. She finds joy in seeing dogs achieve their potential and families gaining more confidence and happiness with their pets.
Future Forecast
In 5 years, Rachel sees herself continuing her work as a dog trainer, helping even more people achieve their goals with their dogs. She plans to expand her service dog training work, especially with military veterans, and to keep providing families with the skills they need for a more fulfilling and harmonious life with their pets.
