Training Methods and how to apply them

Our trainers are experienced in both positive reinforcement and balanced training methods.
Positive reinforcement focuses on rewarding the behaviors we want to see more of, building confidence and motivation in a fun and encouraging way. Balanced training also uses rewards as the foundation but, when needed, incorporates fair boundaries and clear communication tools to help guide dogs effectively. This combination allows us to adapt our approach to each dog’s unique temperament and learning style, always prioritizing safety, respect, and long-term success. We also respect each dog’s needs and each owner’s wishes, while being guided by our trainers’ expertise when it comes to implementing any type of tool.

Brent’s story

Brent was inspired to become a dog trainer while serving in the military. Observing Military Working Dogs (MWD) in action, he knew that he wanted to dedicate his life to working with dogs. This powerful experience sparked his passion for dog training and shaped his career path.
Brent's professional journey began in a kennel, where he started by cleaning during his off time. Through hard work and dedication, he earned his certification from AK9I, where he learned everything from obedience to explosives detection and received his patrol certification. Brent also trained pets through board and train programs while working in explosive detection. He further advanced his expertise by obtaining additional certification from AMK9, where he specialized in ordinance detection. His comprehensive training and hands-on experience have equipped him with a deep understanding of various dog training techniques and specializations.
Brent has extensive training in various areas, but his primary passion lies in detection and obedience training. His expertise in detection work, particularly in explosives and ordinance, is complemented by his strong foundation in obedience training. Brent's dedication to these areas reflects his commitment to ensuring that dogs are well-trained and capable of performing specialized tasks effectively.
