Training Methods and how to apply them

Our trainers are experienced in both positive reinforcement and balanced training methods.
Positive reinforcement focuses on rewarding the behaviors we want to see more of, building confidence and motivation in a fun and encouraging way. Balanced training also uses rewards as the foundation but, when needed, incorporates fair boundaries and clear communication tools to help guide dogs effectively. This combination allows us to adapt our approach to each dog’s unique temperament and learning style, always prioritizing safety, respect, and long-term success. We also respect each dog’s needs and each owner’s wishes, while being guided by our trainers’ expertise when it comes to implementing any type of tool.

Katerina’s story

My passion for dog training started with my very first dog, Pebbles. She came from a backyard breeder and had a lot of behavioral challenges, including dog aggression, human aggression, and overall reactivity. I still remember being attacked over a food bowl when I was a kid, and that experience pushed me to better understand dogs and behavior from a young age.

Since then, dogs have always been a part of my life. I’ve worked in daycares, dog walking, and professional training, gaining hands-on experience with all types of dogs and personalities. What began as a personal challenge turned into a lifelong passion and career.

I am also currently working toward my CPDT certification as well as an additional Behavior Modification certification to continue expanding my knowledge and provide the best possible support to dogs and their owners.

I believe training should always be tailored to the individual dog. Every dog learns differently, so I focus on using the right balance of motivation, structure, clear communication, and accountability depending on the dog’s temperament and needs.

For puppies, I focus on building strong foundations through positive reinforcement, routine, crate training, socialization, and manners. For behavioral cases such as reactivity or aggression, I focus on creating calm leadership, improving impulse control, changing unhealthy patterns, and building confidence through consistency.
